Title: Smugglers' Ranch Author: Charles H. Snow Illustrator: G.P. Micklewright Year: 1940 Publisher: Wright & Brown Ltd. Binding: Hardback Remarks: c.1940 Book Condition: Very Good Jacket Condition: Near Very Good
Description:
Part of Wright & Brown's 3/6 series, this is the next installment in Snow's cycle of
Western adventures following the escapades of a smuggler dealing in precious stones and
narcotics and the sheriff determined to bring him to justice.
No illustrations other than that on the jacket. Pages have resisted tanning, but – despite having been heralded on the rear as being made of the "Best Paper" – there is foxing along the tips, and some sporadic (and light) foxing on the pages themselves. The heaviest foxing is present at the front and end of the book, and there is some discolouration on the ffep and rfep where the pastedowns have made contact. Considering the age of the book, the jacket is in very good condition. There is some negligible loss along the head of the spine and a small ½ cm (0.2″) tear in the bottom left corner. Slight soiling to the rear. No date of publication, but assumed to date from 1940. Very rare to find in dust jacket. Measures 7.6″ × 5.2″ (19 cm × 13 cm). Large 12mo 284 pp. + 4 pp. advertising other books by the publisher. Price: £45.00 |
