Description: This translation from the original Danish emphasises the simplicity and charm of these tales as initally told by Hans Andersen to children.
The colour and the gaiety of Hjortlund's illustrations capture the spirit of Hans Andersen's fairy tales. The richness of detail and humour will appeal to children and adults alike, for there is something new to enjoy every time one looks at them.
The book is in good condition for its age, although the pictorial boards have quite a bit of wear. The corners are bumped and chipped, and the board edges are rubbed. There is a small stain on the rear. The spine is rather worn and has some light damage near the head. The pages are very lightly tanned, but otherwise unmarked and completely free from foxing. One page has been dog-eared.
A very scarce book.
