Crimson cloth boards with embossed gilt, stamped illustration on front and gilded text on spine. Spine faded from exposure to sunlight, but the gilding has survived. Head of spine and upper corners bumped. Gilded page tips. ffep and rfep foxed and tanned from where they have made contact with the pastedowns. Otherwise all pages are in truly remarkable condition for a book that is fast approaching its 110th birthday. There is only a faint hint of tanning – so faint that it hardly warrants mention – and there isn't a single speck of foxing in sight. All pages are completely unmarked and very tightly bound.
An outstanding copy of a rare book.
