Description:
Elizabeth I was one of the greatest monarchs ever to rule over England. Her reign was
an age of great adventure, when English sailors ranged the seas of the world and laid
the foundation of what was to become the British Empire.
This, in simple outline, is the story of that reign.
In true Ladybird fashion, there are stunning, full-page colour illustrations on every facing page. Pastedowns and endpapers illustrated with 'open-wing ladybird' pattern. Matt pictorial boards. Front board bowed. Corners slightly bumped. Jacket in excellent, unclipped condition (bears original price of 2/6). Its only flaw is a negligible closed tear near the top corner (refer to image). Internally, the book is in immaculate condition: crisp, super-tightly-bound pages are unmarked and completely free from foxing. Wonderful example of a genuine first edition. Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.6″). 12mo. 51 pp. (SOLD) |
