A very scarce edition of one of the most famous works by this celebrated Portuguese realist writer.
Unusual binding for a paperback: card covers with inside flaps. Very light discolouration where front cover meets spine. Negligible creasing on spine. Corners bumped. Discolouration to half-title and rep where they have been in contact with inside covers. A few minor specks of foxing on half-title and title pages. Withdrawal stamp on half-title. Pages lightly tanned, but otherwise in excellent, unmarked condition. Rough-cut pages. Remarkable condition for a 50 year old former library book.
