Description:
Rife with racism and political incorrectness galore, this scarce paperback edition of
the 1911 original follows the exploits of Colonial Administrator Sanders (the hero of
a series of Wallace's books known informally as "The African Stories") in Liberia, as
he encounters the eponymous Bosambo – an escaped convict turned tribal chief.
No other illustrations other than the excellent cover art. Inside front and rear covers feature nostalgic adverts for APAL – the forerunner to e-cigarettes – and Cadbury's Dairy Milk, respectively. Pictorial covers are in very good overall condition for their age, with only minor wear/creasing. Pages are very lightly tanned, and completely free from foxing or any other marking. Binding is tight. Measures 18 cm × 11 cm (7.2″ × 4.4″). 12mo. 192 pp. Price: £20.00 |
