Description: Published to coincide with the 1972 Olympic Games in Münich, this is the extremely rare French translation of a German book showing how to draw – or, more accurately, sketch – sportsmen and women in all Olympic disciplines. From archery to cycling; fencing to weight-lifting; boxing to football; and everything in between, each sport is accompanied by a short poem.
Illustrated throughout with full-page b&w line-drawings.
Glazed pictorial boards. Spine and corners bumped; minor rubbing to the former. Apart from some discolouration where the endpapers have been in contact with the pastedowns, the book is in superb internal condition: the pages are clean, unmarked, and have even managed to resist tanning. Binding is sound.
Original German title: Wir zeichnen rund um den Sport.
Measures 25 cm × 18.5 cm (10″ × 7.4″). 4to. 80 pp.
