Description:
"Maps are fascinating things, and once we have learned to read them they can supply us with
much interesting — as well as useful — information.
Everyone needs to read maps at some time, and this book shows how easily they can be
understood."
Illustrated with a mix of beautiful colour oil paintings, and wonderful, nostalgic maps and diagrams (virtually all of which are in colour). Front pastedown and endpaper depict the Conventional Signs used on the Ordnance Survey One Inch Maps (Seventh Series) as defined in 1960. Matt pictorial boards have some minor grubby marks to front, plus three pronounced ones to the rear. Spine bumped with negligible damage to the head; corners also bumped – upper particularly so. Internally, the book is in immaculate condition: the crisp, bright pages are unmarked and haven't so much a speck of foxing or shadow of tanning. Ultra-tight binding. This is a genuine first edition of an exceptionally rare title in the Ladybird series. It is also one of the first books to make use of the newly-introduced (in 1966) Standard Book Number (SBN). Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.6″). 12mo. 51 pp. Price: £25.00 |
