Illustrated IN FULL-COLOUR are 48 British Railways locomotives that have been specially selected from all the Regions to show the most interesting types. In both text and illustration care has been taken to present interesting details of construction."
Matt buff boards with green text to front and spine; jacket illustration is repeated in green monochrome on front. Unclipped (2′6) pictorial jacket is foxed (refer to image) and has a few negligible closed tears along its extremities. Foxing to pastedowns and endpapers. Previous owners have crossed out their names in blue ballpoint on the ffep. Otherwise the pages (printed on glossy paper) are in very good, unmarked condition. Binding is very tight.
Whilst the year of publication is given as 1958, this reprint appears to date from c.1962 – the last title listed on the jacket flap is Motor Cars (published in 1960), but the blue 'open-winged' ladybird pattern (used until 1961) is not present on the endpapers.
