Description:
"'Do you realize [sic],' said Mrs Brown a few days after Paddington returned home from
visiting his aunt in Peru, 'we haven't had a single disaster since Paddington came back?'
But her housekeeper knew better. 'Don't tempt fate,' she warned. And she was quite right
– Paddington's return was only the signal for a new outbreak of adventures, the kind
that only Paddington could ever have…"
Illustrated throughout with Fortnum's lovely b&w sketches. Covers are lightly worn and creased (refer to images), and there is a small closed tear on the edge of the rear. All pages are tanned (standard fare in a 45 year old paperback). The first few – and last two – have some minor dog-ears in their lower corners. p. 61 is creased with some minor closed tears, although this appears to be a fault in the binding process rather than vandalism by the previous owner. Otherwise all pages are in very good condition: unmarked, completely free from foxing, and very tightly bound. Rare first edition. Measures 19 cm × 13 cm (7.5″ × 5.2″). 12mo. 124 pp. (SOLD) | |
