Description: Extremely rare English translation of Nounours Chez le Coiffeur, featuring the famous bear from the cult French children's television show Bonne Nuit, les Petits Рitself based on the equally iconic East German Das Sandmännchen.

Nicolas and Pimprenelle (here rendered as Peter and Lucy) give Nounours (Freddie) a makeover before bedtime. Several mishaps happen along the way, but the children inform him that "one must suffer to be beautiful".

Lovely, full-page colour illustrations throughout – several of which are double-spread – full of charming '60s nostalgia.

Glazed pictorial boards are somewhat creased and scarred; spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Slight cracking to the former. Pages are lightly creased from handling, but – apart from a small 'rusty patch' which has affected 6 pages – are in very good, unmarked condition, and completely free from foxing or tanning. Binding feels a little fragile, but none of the pages show any intention of coming loose.

Measures 31.5 cm × 24 cm (12.5″ × 8.2″). Folio. Unpaginated.
