Ernest H. Shepard's wonderful b&w sketches and full-page watercolours bring each fairy tale to life. Light green cloth boards. Laminated jacket has been clipped and a revised price sticker labelled "OUP £4.50 net" affixed to the inside flap. 35 year old adhesive tape is holding the library binding in place. "Lambeth Public Libraries" blind-stamped on rear (refer to image). Dewey number neatly machine-printed on spine and inscribed in black ballpoint on verso. Usual library stamps present inside. Missing ffep. Vast majority of pages are clean, though the first few, and a handful of others, are stained. Previous owner's name crossed out in felt-tip on rear pastedown.
