Description: Illustrated throughout with excellent b&w drawings and plans of the cathedrals, numerous plates containing high-quality b&w photographs, plus a stunning colour frontispiece by F. Mackenzie.
Front pastedown and endpaper contain a hand-drawn b&w map showing the locations of each cathedral, whilst the rear pastedown and endpaper depict a plan of a typical cathedral, plus wonderful, labelled b&w illustrations of architectural features.

Red cloth boards with gilt text on spine. Spine and corners straight. Unclipped jacket (12s. 6d. net) has a negligible mark – and equally minor closed tear – on the rear. Scuffing at head of spine. Otherwise excellent condition for age. Upper page tips dyed red to match colour of boards. A few pages are slightly wavy, otherwise the book is mint condition. Pages have resisted tanning, are completely free from foxing or any other markings, and are extremely tightly bound.
