Description: The edition of Illustrated Weekly for April 3, 1937 has all of its 28 pages jam-packed with nostalgic adverts and fascinating articles.
Highlights include: a superb photo feature showing seamstresses hard at work on the Queen consort's coronation dress; an article about Aden, the latest addition to the British Empire; a piece on New York's Riker Island prison; plus a stunningly illustrated feature on ethnic beauty. Commercial highlights include adverts for the Austin Seven motor-car, Kleenex tissues, Raleigh bicycles, plus a whole host of tobacco adverts for such names as Player's and Piccadilly.

Illustrated throughout with high-quality sepia photographs, plus several b&w comic strips and line drawings.

Light scuffing along extremities. Pages lightly creased from handling and only lightly tanned. pp. 26-28 have a few minor specks of foxing, else all pages are in very good, unmarked condition. Remarkably well-preserved for a 74 year old magazine.

A very rare survivor.
