Description: "The pictorial history of the 1953 Everest Expedition from Kathmandu to the summit. This valuable, permanent record of the adventure story of our generation contains over 150 pictures, most of which have not been published before, and includes all the important photographs taken on the final assault and from the summit by Sir Edmund Hillary."
Pictorial cloth boards depict a blue monochrome map of the Himalayas on both sides. Royal blue spine with silver gilt lettering. Several blotches of foxing to front and rear. Price-clipped jacket features some foxing (refer to image), and has some negligible closed tears along its extremities. Thanks to the fact that they have been printed on glossy paper, the pages have resisted both tanning and foxing – although there are a few specks along the sides of pp. 125-127. Binding is sound.
Measures 24 cm × 18.5 cm (9.5″ × 7.4″). Large 8vo. 128 pp.
