Description: "Historic facts and characters are woven in to give additional depth & richness to a novel which is so engrossing in its dramatic incidents and so rich in varied personalities that the reader is wholly immersed. This is Mrs. Keyes' twenty-third novel; it is written with as much fire and gusto as her first and it has her whole resources of technique and wealth of experience to draw upon. The result is a book which may justly be called her masterpiece."

Dark blue cloth boards with silver gilded text on spine. Unclipped jacket (16s. net) has been laminated by previous owner and is in excellent condition. The book itself is effectively as new. The pages are crisp, tightly bound and virtually free of marking – the previous owner has stamped the date "20 Aug 1957" on the ffep and there is a negligible mark on the rfep. Front board's right corner has been slightly bumped.

Rare in dust jacket.
