Binding: Board Book
Publisher: Brimax Books
Remarks: Inscribed; c.1978
Book Condition: Good
Jacket Condition: N/A
Description: An extremely rare compendium of 8 traditional nursery rhymes, including Simple Simon, Polly Put the Kettle On, and Banbury Cross.
Beautiful, full-page colour illustrations grace every page.
Pictorial boards with yellow cloth spine. Front cover scratched, and worn along extremities. Minor creasing where it meets the spine. Rear cover scratched with some localised pockmarking. Spine bumped and frayed at head and tail. Gift inscription in red ballpoint on front cover (refer to image) dated January 1987. Very good internal condition.
No year of publication given, but the general look and feel of the book make it highly unlikely that this is a late-'80s publication – as suggested by the gift inscription. Brimax published board books with similar binding in the late-'70s, so it's quite likely that this title dates from c.1978 and was presented to its new owner 9 years later.
Measures 27 cm × 20.5 cm (10.8″ × 8.2″). 4to. Unpaginated.
