Description: Illustrated throughout with excellent b&w line drawings and etchings.
Crimson cloth boards with gilded text and illustrations on front and spine. Spine has darkened and faded – and all the gilding with it. Missing approx. 1 cm from its head. Part of the cloth binding is missing near the head. Further damage at rear near the tail. Some discolouration to front (refer to image). Minor stain on and light soiling on rear board. Corners worn and bumped – upper badly so. Front pastedown stained. fep missing. Despite the poor condition of the spine, all pages remain tightly bound. Light foxing to title page; very sporadic thereafter. A few pages have some minor grubby marks. Some minor staining and darkening to the tips. Pages only have a faint hint of tanning, and are in excellent overall condition for a 125 year old book.
