Title: John Wesley: Founder of Methodism
Author: John A. Vickers
Illustrator: Ronald Jackson
Publisher: Ladybird Books Ltd.
Book Condition: Very Good
Jacket Condition: N/A
Description: "Although the progress of Christianity through the ages has been marked by many men who were willing to die for their faith, John Wesley was a man who lived for his faith, professing it with such vigour that he became a legend in his own lifetime. His story is also that of the world-wide Methodist Church, for it is founded on work and ideas."
Excellent, colour illustrations throughout – many of which are full-page or double-spread. Front pastedown and endpaper contains two b&w photographs depicting two contrasting styles of Methodist architecture: from the traditional in Denham, Buckinghamshire to the ultra-modern in Banstead, Surrey.
Matt pictorial boards very lightly soiled. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Internally, the book is effectively as new. Pages are very tightly bound. Price of 24p on rear cover suggests this is a first edition, however there is one more title listed after John Wesley, so this is likely to be the first reprint.
Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.6″). 12mo. 51 pp. + index.
