Description: "Biggles (with the redoubtable Algy and Ginger, of course) fly to Darkest Africa to search for a missing pilot. They have to fight for their lives in crocodile-infested waters, stand before the ferocity of a rhino's maddened charge, grapple with naked hands against a giant python, and counter other jungle terrors. But their most deadly opponents are men—savage tribesmen in the pay of white criminals."
Contains several full-page, b&w illustrations (including a map).
This copy looks as though it had accompanied Biggles on his African adventure! Covers are worn and creased, with some damage near the centre of the spine. Ancient adhesive tape is trying its utmost to hold several pages in place. The final 73 pages have parted company from the binding, and formed their own 'book'! Previous owner has inscribed a number of dates in a mix of ballpoint and pencil on the title page.
Genuine first edition of a rare title, but price reflects condition.
Measures 17.5 cm × 11 cm (7″ × 4.4″). 12mo. 157 pp. + 3 pp. advertising other books by the publisher.
