Description:
He was very small and curly and his mummie [sic] called him Lambkin.
They lived in a beautiful flower-decked meadow with lots and lots of other lambs and their
mummies.
But Lambkin soon grows curious as to what lies beyond the hedge which separates his meadow from the rest of the world, and embarks on a mini-adventure where he makes new friends along the way. Contains a mix of delightful full-page and in-text colour illustrations (including a frontispiece). Technicolour pastedowns and endpapers depict Lambkin ambling along a country lane with his animal friends. Glazed pictorial boards are in very good overall condition, with only the slightest wear in places. Spine bumped; corners are straight. A small handful of pages have some negligible damp stains and grubby marks, plus further light staining on the edge of the tips. Otherwise all pages are in excellent condition for their age: largely unmarked, free from foxing, and without even so much as a hint of tanning. Even the staples holding the binding haven't rusted! Binding is very tight. Presumed first edition. A nice copy of a very scarce book in the Little Poppets series. Measures 18.5 cm × 12 cm (7.4″ × 4.8″). Large 12mo. Unpaginated. Price: £25.00 |
