Description: "You remember Snubby and his mad little spaniel Loony, don't you? And his cousins Roger and Diana, and their circus-boy friend Barney, with this monkey, Miranda? Well, here they all are again, in another Mystery-Adventure book! A seaside holiday at a queer old inn near a Hush-Hush Bay. Strange and unusual guests at the inn—old Professor James, Miss Twitt, Mr. Marvel the Conjurer, the Funny Man; Signals at night; a strange whirlpool in the rocks; disappearances! How we wish we could have adventures of this kind—but still, the next best thing is to share them with the children in this honest-to-goodness Enid Blyton book! Yes—it's one of her very best!"
Each chapter is headed with a lovely b&w illustration.
Red cloth boards with black text to spine. Spine bumped; corners lightly so. The unclipped (6s. 6d. net) jacket has some minor wear to its extremities, plus 'crazing' at the top edge (refer to image). Light foxing on reverse. Front and rear endpapers are discoloured where they came in contact with the jacket flaps and some other unidentified objects. Apart from some light grubby marks on pp. 249-251, and a jot or two of foxing on the last few pages, the book is in very good internal condition. Binding is sound, and the pages are unmarked and only lightly tanned.
