Description: An unusual adaptation of the Grimms' famous fairy tale Town Musicians of Bremen. Whilst remaining largely faithful to the original story, certain aspects and events have been changed – most notably the animals are aware that the cottage in the forest is occupied by miscreants, and set about deliberately evicting them. It is also worth mentioning that Bremen is never referred to by name – it is simply called the 'big town'.
Nakatani's wonderful colour illustrations (many of which are double spread) bring the tale to life. Pastedowns and endpapers feature a two-tone monochrome scene of various woodland animals and sprites listening to a rabbit read from a book.
Glazed pictorial boards. Some localised scarring to rear (visible only under direct light). Spine ends lightly bumped; corners are straight. Neat gift inscription has been lightly pencilled on the fep. Internally, the book is in truly superb condition: pages are crisp, bright, printed on thick paper, and haven't so much a speck of foxing or a shadow of tanning.
