Description: "Here is a Ladybird book for children — and adults — who want to know 'how, when, where and why?'
It tells the story of music from the days of Stone Age man up to the present day. It will enhance everyone's appreciation of music, and remind us — in these days of transistors — that there is a great deal of music that should be really listened to with all our attention."
Exquisite full-page colour illustrations on every other page. Pastedowns and endpapers feature labelled b&w illustrations of various modern, classical, and ancient instruments.Pictorial matt boards are clean and have been reinforced with library binding – though it still wasn't enough to prevent the spine and corners from bumping! Internally, the original lending record is still affixed to the title page (the sole entry being 4 Jul 1991). The book's ticket and holder are also in place on the verso. Unfortunately the glue keeping the holder in place has seeped through, resulting in a stain on the fep. Those defects aside, the pages are in immaculate condition and are very tightly bound – nothing short of remarkable for a 35 year old primary school library book!
Measures 17.5 cm × 11.5 cm (7″ × 4.6″). 12mo. 51 pp.
